    A bit about me...

    Tracey Clark

My name is Tracey and I am the founder of ‘Sorted’. I have lived in Singapore for 11 years and in that time I have moved 5 times, each time, the apartments have generally got smaller and smaller and at the same time the number of adults and pets grew. I have always loved order versus chaos and have a knack of finding organisational systems that are within my budget and work for my family.

Our worlds are often busy and complex and we often don’t have time for the things that give us the most pleasure. Women are often juggling motherhood, careers and busy homes. I have learnt that I cannot do it all and have learnt to say No to some things, particularly if it will affect the time spent with my family and friends.

People often comment, when they know what I do for a living, that my home must be super tidy, clean and organised, which is not always the case. I tell people that my home is 90% organised, 80% of the time. My family does not want or would feel comfortable living in a ‘show home’, nor do they constantly want to be nagged if things are not exactly in the right spot. Don’t get me wrong, come Monday morning I cannot wait to get the house back in order. The weekends are the time when things get a little slacker in the organised department.

For me flexibility is key. When I get a free day in the week when I’m not working I will try to get in a yoga session, meet someone for lunch or coffee at my favorite hang out [Tiong Bahru] or get a pedicure. I think it is very important to take some time for yourself and take up a hobby or make time for a passion you already have. I know I can get quite tense if I do not make it to at least a couple of yoga sessions each week.

I will also use this day to re-organise at least 1 small space, whether that is a kitchen cupboard or a quick de-clutter in any one of the areas around the house. Because things are fairly organised this would only take around 20 minutes.

I will be showing you some of the various systems I use for different areas in my following blogs. These systems are always evolving and changing according to space/budget and items needed for a particular project.
